Introduction

National Informatics Centre (NIC) is a premiere S&T organization of the Government of India in the field of Informatics Services and Information Technology (IT) . NIC has established a nationwide ICT Network – NICNET – with gateway nodes in Central Government Departments, 35 State/UT Secretariats, and in almost all 602 District Collectorates, for IT services. NIC District Center established in Gwalior District in January 1989 and NIC District Centre providing effective Informatics support to the District administration and Judiciary administration of the District Gwalior. NIC Gwalior has been playing a catalytic roll in prompt IT Culture for effective governance at the District level.

Video Conferencing facility In NIC Gwalior

NIC Gwalior has started its Video Conferencing facility in the month of October 2004 ,A Video Conferencing meeting is usually brief and focused than a face to face meeting. Benefits available through ability to meet and work with others ,over a distance are extensive. It enables top management to communicate quickly and effective with decision -makers sitting at multiple location VC helps to reduce travel cost improve use of executive time and speedup decision making.

Training & Dial-up Connectivity

DIC Gwalior has been providing phenomenal support to the Central & State Government by creating IT awareness ,skill development in the use of IT productivity tool. Training programme are conducted on various topics in keeping with the pace of fast development in the field of software and computer communication .Five days training programme for District Court Officials are being conducted every month since Mar 2005.

Gwalior District Center providing dialup NICNET connectivity to 50 users for accessing E-mail and Internet facility.
